Hurricane Sandy has devastated communities throughout the Eastern seaboard. Your help is urgently needed to reach millions of people impacted by this natural disaster. The hurricane victims are in dire need of medical attention and medications but are unable to reach their healthcare providers and pharmacies. To¬†address this urgent need, the Foundation for Improving Patient Outcomes is providing a mobile medical outreach initiative to transport physicians to patients in need, as well as bring patients to healthcare providers and facilities. ¬†The Foundation for Improving Patient Outcomes is ready to provide assistance for both immediate needs and long-term assistance related to Sandy’s aftermath:

Immediate Needs

  • Transportation of patients to physician offices, clinics, and hospitals
  • On-site visits by healthcare professionals to impacted neighborhoods
  • Pharmacy deliveries
  • Coordination of counseling and other mental health interventions

Long-term Assistance

  • Coordination of care for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Medical transportation assistance during rebuilding phase
  • Patient education, wellness, and medication adherence support to maintain and protect health during the rebuilding/recovery phase
